Site is reached by boat, approximately 4 miles downstream from Cooper's Landing Boat Launch (below El Vado Reservoir). Spring is on an open, grassy terrace on river left.

Burdock Spring. Drive to the Red River fish hatchery in Taos County, NM. Park in the furthest lot downstream. Hike downstream along the angler's trail on river right for 0.60 miles. Spring emergence is north of the trail immediately behind a large boulder

Drive 1.2 mi north of Rio Grande Gorge Visitor's Center on NM-68. Park at old BLM parking area and hike downhill from the SW corner to wash. Population is ~125 m NE within wash floor, beyond cottonwoods.

Snag Spring. Site is 0.43 mi north of John Dunn Bridge on CR B-007, on the east bank.

From the instersection of Highway 64 and Highway 285 in the town of Tres Piedras, drive S on Highway 285 for 6.6 miles. Go E on USFS Road 551D for ca. 0.7 miles. At the fork go SE and continue for 0.9 miles.

Collected in Sabinosa Canyon approximately 5 miles north of US 65.
