Collected on the Northwest shore of Silver Lake in the Carson Pass area. Growing in association with Ribes montigenum, S. lemmonii, and Monardella odoratissima. Elevation 7300 feet. Lodgepole Pine Forest plant community. T 9N., R17E., Sec. 5.
