Collected in R31E-T13S, section 17, in Kings Canyon National Park. It was near Cedar Groove on the trail from Artists Cabin to Roaring River bridge. It grew on a dry open flat near the road.

Collected in R29E-16S, section 4, NE1/4, in Sequoia National Park. It was near the Ash Mountain entrance station at Indian sign, On the trail to the river. It was on an open sunny hillside.
