Phu Phan National Park

Volcán Tungurahua. Trail from Baños to refugio of Tungurahua. Pasture and mountain forest with many Ericaceae, Melastomataceae, Orchidaceae, and Asteraceae.

Río Cuyabeno. Midway between Puerto Montúfar and Río Aguas Negras. Temporarily inundated forest.

N side of Cerro Sumaco, 100 m NW of campsite. Humid paramo with Blechnum and thick layers of mosses.

Jera 10 km north-east of Saraguro. Information of local name and use: Maríe Christine Bermeo, Saraguro-indian.

Río Wai si ayá, a northern tributary to Río Aguarico. 1.5 km up the river on a small path going in the direction SE. Partly inundated disturbed primary forest.

Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Cerro Toledo, E of Yangana. Wet paramo and scrubby subparamo.

Primary perhumid rainforest along trail between the Coaiquer (Awa) Amerindian communities San Marcos and San Antonio located along the trail before Gualpi Bajo.

Road San Miguel (Salcedo) - Puerto Nuevo (Napo) (under construction), 54 km from San Miguel. Partly deforested montane forest with large trees.

Road Loja - Zamora, km 33. Dry rocky slopes with grass and scattered shrubs.

Lorocachi. A 2 km, margens izquierda del Río Curaray, aquas abajo, al este del campamento militar. Bosque primario y secundario.

Cerro de Río Bravo de Cayapas. Tierra firme, rain forest with many palms.

Llanganati. Steep slope along Río Topo, immediately SE of Aucacocha. Elfin forest.

Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Road Yangana - Valladolid, km 26. Montane forest along ravine.

Julio Andrade - El Carmelo, turn off towards El Ajún, km 0-3. Roadside and secondary vegetation dominated by Freziera.

Quebrado Masavacho. Remnants of disturbed Ceja andina.

Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Cerro Toledo E of Yangana. Wet paramo around radio station.

Río Cumbe valley, c. 5 km S of Cumbe. Mountain scrub and W-exposed evergreen, mossy, montane forest.

Taisha. Río Guambime. A small river situated 2-3 km E of the military camp. Riverside forest.

San Mateo

Páramo de Mojanda. At Laguna Negra and S-side of Laguna Grande.

Reserva Faunistica Cuyabeno, just north of Laguna Grande. Tropical rain forest on terra firme.

Falda occ. de Cerro Antisana, origen Río Antisana. Páramo con rocas vólcanicas. Cuadrante 13.

Vicinity of Loja, at road toward La Toma (Catamayo). Disturbed xerophytic vegetation, locally more humid.

Guarumales (Cola de San Pablo). Montane forest and disturbed patches. Soil temp.: 18° C.

Río Cayapa, Zapallo Grande. Río Zapallo Grande (tributary of Río Cayapa) was followed 500 m. upriver. From the left bank a trail led into the forest. Through disturbed areas finally primary upland forest was reached on a ridge.

Volcán Atacazo, W slope, 17 km from San Juan. Polylepis forest.

Río Pastaza. River banks between the outlets of Río Bobonaza and Río Ishpingo.

Río Aguarico, San Pablo de los Secoyas. Mature rain forest.

Lorocachi. A 2 horas en deslizador aguas arriba, el En cañonado. Margen derecha, zona con muchas palmas bosque primario.

Muletrack Amaluza - Palanda, western slope, near the pass (W of Laguna Chuquiragua). Grass páramo with patches of montane forest with large trees in protected places.

Isla Puná. Path from Punà Nueva to Estero de los Pozo. Semi-evergreen forest.

La Esperanza, 5 km W of El Carmelo, on road to Tulcán. Hedgerows and pasture margins.

Río Lagarto Cocha. Blackwater lakes, swamps, and swamp forest at labyrinth of Río Lagarto Cocha and Río Cocaya.

Taisha. Río Panguientza about 5 km NW of the military camp. Primary forest.

From crossrd. Catacocha - Catamayo (at km 10) app. 8 km S along gravel road. Ravine with semi-evergreen vegetation surrounded by xerophytic vegetation.

Páramo de Loma Gorda, along Río Antisana, below Micacocha. Grass paramo with large tufts of Festua and Calamagrostis in mosaic with blanket-bog like areas with dominance of cushion plants and Cortaderia.

Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Road Yangana - Cerro Toledo. Tall montane forest, dominated by Chusquea thicket on the forest floor.

Cuyabeno Nature Reserve, Río Cuyabeno and Laguna Cañangueno. Collections made from canoe going upstream to the lake, varzéa and igapó forest.
