About one mile east of Cambria. Santa Rosa creek above Ferasci Road rivercrossing. Riparian corridor dominated by Salix lasiolepis and Populus balsamifera.

White Mountains. Wyman Canyon below Robert's Ranch and above Royal Gorge. Steep north facing canyon walls of dolomite. Pinus monophylla and Juniperus osteosperma woodland with Ephedra viridis, Artemisia tridentata, Cercocarpus and Opuntia.

Trail along North Fork of Big Pine Creek above Big Pine Creek Campgrounds. Small creek through subalpine Pinus contorta forest. Salix and Populus tremuloides dominant with understory of Castilleja, Aquilegia, Allium and other wildflowers.

Mount Abraham, along Battel Trail. Subalpine spruce forest with dense carpets of moss on the ground. Understory open, with scattered ferns and shrubs.

Sierra Azul Open Space, along trail from Bald Mtn. to Mt. Umunhum. Growing in seasonal creek through stand of Umbelluaria and Q. chrysolepis.

Orestimba Wilderness, Henry Coe State Park, along trail from Rooster Comb to Lion Canyon. North facing slope with low woodland of Fraxinus dipetala and Prunus ilicifolia. Understory of Marah and wildflowers.

Blue Oak Ranch Reserve. High Road at the hairpin turn above intersection with Laumond's Road. Northeast facing slope. Open woodland of Quercus kelloggii, Aesculus and Q. lobata. Understory of mixed annual grasses and native forbs.

Blue Oak Ranch Reserve, along Alum Rock Falls Road in open Quercus lobata savanna with occasional Toxicodendron. Large lichen-covered boulders in partial shade.

Henry Coe State Park, in Braen Canyon. Base of north facing slope along seasonal stream. Woodland of Quercus agrifolia and Umbellularia with Aesculus and Q. kelloggii. Dense shrub layer of Toxicodendron and Symphoricarpos.

Hwy 229 ca. 1 mi. north of junction with Hwy 58. Chamise chaparral with Ceanothus leucodermis, Salvia mellifera, Rhus trilobata. Decomposing granite, gentle south facing slope.

Henry Coe State Park, downslope from Ponderosa Trail, near Coe Headquarters enterance. Along seasonal drainage with dense canopy of Umbellularia with Quercus chrysolepis and Acer macrophyllum.

Angeles National Forest. Mt Emma Road 500m north of junction with Angeles Forest Hwy. Arid, recently burned chaparral dominated by Adenostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Hesperoyucca whipplei, Prunus ilicifolia and Juniperus sp.
