Caliente Range, near Semper spring. Open Juniperus californicus woodland with Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Atriplex polycarpa and Poa secunda. On dead Juniper stump.

Upper Pennington Creek. Serpentine chaparral dominated by Ceanothus cuneatus and Adenostoma fasciculatum, with Quercus durata and Arctostaphylos sp. Northwest facing slope, on soil.

Los Trancos Open Space Preserve, along Lost Creek Loop Trail. Small, spring-fed streamlet through mixed evergreen forest of Umbellularia, Quercus chrysolepis, Acer macrophyllum, Pseudotsuga, Notholithocarpus and Arbutus. Aralia common along streamlet.

Trail along south rim of Cirque de Salazie from G̨te de Belouve to G̨te de Piton Neige. Seasonal drainage through Acacia heterophylla forest. Dense canopy with deep shade. Rocks and trees covered with Hymenophyllaceae and bryophytes.

Convict Lake. West edge of lake. Stand of Populus balsamifera with P. tremuloides and Juniperus occidentalis. Surrounding vegetation with Artemisia tridentata, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Eriogonum umbellatum and Wyethia. Gneiss bedrock.

Blue Oak Ranch Reserve, southeast of Cedar Barn. Riparian corridor dominated by Quercus chrysolepis, Q. agrifolia and Umbellularia.

Soldiers Delight Natural Area on Deer Park Road. Serpentine Trail north of overlook. Serpentine grassland with scattered Quercus stellata and Q. marylandica. Patches of Pinus virginiana and Smilax common in places.
