Exact locality data unknown. Fossils come from coastal exposures of the Tugidak Formation on Tugidak Island, Gulf of Alaska. Probably from the southern or southwestern shore exposures. Collected by Marathon Oil Company, Summer, 1971.

No precise locality description supplied by Burns. Fauna indicates specimens must have come from the Untermediate Beach or Third Beach, near Nome. Chlamys (Swiftopecten) kindlei (Dall) is restricted to this interval, the Anvilian.
