Holly River State Park. In open old field near old home site of the Potato Knob Area, in vicinity of the waterfall on the Left Fork of the Holly River. Growing abundantly all up and down the main trunk of walnut in open field, southeast-facing slope.

Growing around entrance to Bowden Cave at old Quarry east of Fish Hatchery along Shavers Fork. Cave about 0.4 mile east of Fish Hatchery along Old Route 33. Wooded slope about 2540 feet elevaton.

Audra State park in Hall, West Virginia. Audra State Park located along the Middle Fork River. Norhteast section of the park. Growing in deciduous woods about 66% of way up to ridgetop and growing with Pyxinxe sorediata, and Heterodermia granulifera.

U.S. Highway 231 Cedars of Lebanon State Day Use Park, 31 miles East of Nashville, 6 miles south of Interstate 40 on US Highway 231 (State Highway 10). About 0.15 mile down gravel road beyond Pool. Growing in open woods.

Alpena Gap on Shavers Mountain, elevation 3020 feet.

Weston 7.5 quadrangle. Just south of Jackson Mill State 4-H Camp along the West Fork River with junction with Sycamore Lick Road (County Route 10). Growing about 1/2 to ridge top. West-facing wooded slope. In woods near intermittent stream.
