Mucky soil elevated just above water level of pond (the "lotus pond"), just to W of Fla. Rt. 271, Apalachee Game Management Area, N of Sneads.

NW Quadrant of Wade Tract in old road side of main road burned early June 1990. This specimen compares favorably with several sheets of G. florida at Missouri Bot. Garden. The type has more downy pubescence, but several of the sheets are nearly glabrous.

In areas of windblown shifting sand, Dog Island. Plants commonly with an extraordinary number of branches around which sand builds into mounds.

Infrequent on much disturbed sand ridge, by Turkey Creek Rd. a short distance to N of Fla. Rt. 20, E of Bristol.

Small tree. Ca 8 m tall, with swollen base. Swamp, lake Iamonia, near the bridges on meridian Road, N of Tallahassee.

Very abundant in open bog, by Big Pine Field, Tall Timbers Research Station.

Shrub ca 1.5m tall, on periphery of shrub-tree bog, Apalachicola National Forest, by forest road 313, 2.6 miles generally S of Fla. rd 267, generally N of Crawfordville.

Tall Timbers Research Station. Gannet pond, marshy areas. Seems to prefer disturbed sites around pond.
