Locally abundant in several acres of annually control-bruned longleaf pine-scrub oak on sand ridge. Apalachicola National Forest, by forest road 322 (E.E. Wallace Road) a short distance east of Springhill Road, S of Tallahassee.

Wade Tract preserve 3.1 miles S of highway 319 along rte 122(Metcalf Rd.) W on dirt road 0.6 mi. Burned area (8-24-0) along slope, on the eastern portion of preserve. Other individuals found at base of slope in slightly wetter area.
