Locally abundant on gravelly railroad bed, 2 miles E of Cross City along U.S. Rt. 19/98.

In wet savana, Grand Bay, Apalachicola National Forest: from Fla. Rt. 20 S on Fla. Rt. 375 to forest road 320 to the E 1 mile then through longleaf pine to the left to and through a narrow band of bay-thicket to the savanna.

3.1 miles W of Ochlockonee Bay bridge and S of Sopchoppy, by Fla. Rd 299. Locally abundant in clearing next to sand live oak woodland. With Heterotheca subaxillaris, Haplopappus divaricatus, Polygonella gracile, Aristida patula, Lespedeza hirta.

Numerous plants at or near the edge of field where vegetables are grown near the barn, Tall Timbers Research Station.

On moist sandy soil of a huge borrow-pit that was surrounded by longleaf pineland. Apalachicola National Forest by Forest Rd 13, somewhat to the west of Bradwell Bay Wilderness Area

Multistemmed shrub ca 2.5 m tall. A single one seen growing just next to a large loblolly pine. Tall Timbers Research Station fairly close to Co. road 12, and north of 12.
