Occurring in shallow water along the edge of Lake Talquin about 1 mile E of the Dam.

Growing very thickly on low dunes well back from beach, ca 3/4 mile E of Deer Lake. Holding the sands very well.

Tall Timbers Research Station. Hammock areas around plantation. Lowlands, shady places. Flowers white. Looks like Elephantopus tomentosus before flowering spikes appear.

Caespitose. In peaty soil of clearing close to small stram and just outside a wet woodland, chiefly of Magnolia virginiana, Chamaecyparis thyopides.
