Tree ca 8 m tall, the crown ovoid. Small calcareous glade, by Bumpnose Rd 2 miles N of U.S. Rt 90 and Penn Rd, Marianna.

Plants mostly low but some becoming 1.5 m tall and spindly in amongst other shrubs; chiefly along the edges of small ponds nestled in pine flatwoods on Dog Island.

Plant interwining amongst itself forming a tangle ca 1 m high; longleaf pine, turkey oak sand ridge,ca 5 miles S of Quincy.

Near railroad N of State Highway 187, just E of Suwannoochee Creek. Edge of pine flatwoods (sandy soil on road).

Locally, at least, abundant in floodplain woodland of Little River, vicinity of crossing of the river by U.S. Rt. 90, E of Quincy.

Open sands of low, stabilizing dunes along Gulf of Mexico, Phipps Preserve, Alligator Point.
